Advance Polls Start Oct. 4

Advance polls for the 2021 Municipal Elections begin on Oct. 4, 2021.

COVID Concerns

I have received a lot of communication from residents asking me about my position of everything from the mask mandate to a vaccine passport. This is a topic that is a no-win. Everyone has different thoughts and opinions on COVID and what should - or shouldn't - be done in the interest of public health.

As we enter into the official election season, we are anticipating what the province will do as people and businesses continue in a place of uncertainty and anxiety.

I created a video that I hope adequately explains my position on this important topic. If you have any questions after watching this video, please don't hesitate to reach out by sending an email to [email protected].

Campaign Launch - You're Invited!

Come see our new digs!

It has been a busy couple of weeks for the campaign as we took possession of our office space and worked to get it all set up.

We borrowed tables from helpful friends, laid down alphabet foam mats in the kids’ area, and taped the maps on the wall. The door knockers are hard at work, the coffee pot is plugged in and we welcome everyone to come by and say hi.

Where is the Help Now?

On April 27, 2021 at the Strathona County Council meeting, a report was presented from the COVID-19 Recovery Task Force. This Task Force formed a year ago.

The main recovery task force was comprised of three smaller task forces:

  1. Economic Recovery – Economic Resilience and Vision Task Force
  2. Recovery Governance Task Force
  3. Social and Mental Health Issues

Why I'm Running

The community needs strong, experienced leadership as we head into uncertain times.

There must be stability within the County so that the business world and prospective industries can count on the existing rules. These rules cannot continue to be changed based on individual cases or pet projects. We must have a concrete plan going forward to deal with our recovery.

Saying we want to continue being great isn’t a vision, it is the status quo. What does that vision entail? What are we striving towards that we can measure and count on?

While reducing taxes is never a bad thing, it’s time we started asking whether we are getting value for the money we do spend.
